Dear Terrific HMSA Community,
We had mentioned earlier that we were going to have the WeatherBug weather station installed at Hoover. WeatherBug is a remote weather station that is used by Tom Skilling (Meteorologist Rock Star) on WGN Television to monitor various weather patterns at different locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Our weather station also includes an HD camera that can be picked up for broadcast on WGN television. Our WeatherBug weather station was installed over spring break and it complements our third and fifth grade curriculum.
Well, HMSA was officially introduced to the world last night.
The link below was from the 9:00pm WGN weather forecast that Tom Skilling shared out.

Click on the ‘Thursday Full Forecast’ 5/3 video. [It is the video that is 5:54 minutes long.] (Currently second from the left…)
Hoover is mentioned beginning at the 4 minute 20 second marker. There is an HD time lapse video of the approaching storm that Tom Skilling shares out and he mentions our school name. The video was really neat to see.
We’ll have more information later on how you can get the WeatherBug smartphone app for free in order to keep a tab on our school’s weather.
For now, you may access the HMSA WeatherBug from the link to the right, under the Math and Science Data Heading, called WeatherBug Data.
Thank you,
Jake Chung
