Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures

Hoover Parking Lot is Closed – In an effort to reduce the number of moving vehicles while school busses are in the parking lot, no parent traffic will be allowed into or out of the Hoover School parking lot from approximately 8:15 – 8:45 each morning and from 2:50 – 3:05 each afternoon (except for Wednesday afternoons when the lot will be closed from 2:20 -2:40 p.m. to accommodate our early dismissal time.)  Only busses and staff members will be allowed to drive into and out of the Hoover parking lot during these times.  Please respect our staff members who are stationed out there in order to close off the parking lot.

Use the paths in Hoover Park – We would like to strongly encourage you to drop off your children at the paths into Hoover Park located at Amherst and Ellington and also at Colwyn and Iverson.  Safety Patrol members will be stationed along these paths and staff members are positioned on the east side of the school building to help to ensure the safety of our students.

Kindergarten  – Kindergarten parents and parents of other very young children who wish to walk their children to and from Hoover during these times may continue to park in the Baptist Church of Schaumburg’s parking lot across the street from Hoover and then cross the street with the crossing guard. Kindergarten parents who drop off or pick up their children during the middle of the school day are welcome to park in Hoover’s parking lot as there is significantly less bus traffic at these times.

Be polite neighbors at the Baptist Church of Schaumburg – We are allowed to use the parking lot of the church across the street as a courtesy,  so if you choose to drop off  or pick up your children at the Baptist Church of Schaumburg’s parking lot, please remember to be good neighbors.  Pull your vehicle completely into the parking lot and park in a space.  Do not stop in the driveway to load or unload your child as this causes an unsafe back up on Springinsguth Road.  Drive slowly and carefully, making certain to look for little ones who may be darting around your vehicle.  Enter their parking lot through their clearly marked entrance and exit through their exit only.
