A Message from Mrs. Ankrom

Dear Hoover community,

We hope you have been out enjoying the beautiful spring weather! There has been a lot going on at Hoover as the year winds down. We cannot thank the amazing Hoover PTA enough for the treats they’ve given Hoover staff this week for Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers have been honored with a breakfast, summer sand pails filled with tasty treats, baked goods provided by the Hoover Bakers, a delicious lunch, and finally, each staff member received a festive beach towel for summer fun! We are extremely lucky to have such caring and involved parents at Hoover.

Other highlights of the week have been iWalk/Bike to School. Although the weather was cloudy and rainy, we had a lot of students who got their exercise in and walked or biked to school! Officers from the Schaumburg Police Department were here handing out pencils and greeting students. Thank you to the PTA members who attended the PTA Scholarship Dinner. We enjoyed listening to the accomplishments of our former students and were very impressed with their speeches.  We are looking forward to our 6th grade dinner tonight. Our 6th graders have been working hard all year and we are proud of them! Please read below for other important District information.

District 54 Virtual Learning University

Are you searching for an innovative way to empower your children over the summer? Are you looking for a comprehensive approach to summer learning that combats boredom and keeps everyone engaged? Look no further! We have created a new website with a wide range of challenges at each grade level to help prevent the summer slide. Visit the School District 54 Virtual Learning University to tackle challenges for literacy, math, science, social science, language and culture too!  Each content area has multiple challenges to keep your children’s minds focused and active throughout the summer weeks! Within each category you will find family activities, individual activities and places to visit in our community and surrounding areas.  We hope you’ll encourage your children to visit our Virtual Learning University often throughout the summer to challenge themselves and to keep your family learning together. Click here to access the Virtual Learning University or find the link under Popular Links on the District 54 website.
