A Message From Mrs. Rosenblum

Dear HMSA Families,

It was wonderful to see so many families having fun at our Hoover Happening and Curriculum Night. Thank you to our PTA and parents that made the games, music, spirit wear, and food possible for this event. You can view the PTA Hoover Hawk for more information and to learn about upcoming events. A Note from the Nurse
Attention Parents of Kindergarteners, 6th graders and new students, who have NOT submitted the required physical examination and immunizations, in accordance with the Illinois School Code (section 27-8). Please send these requirements to our school nurse ASAP. Your child will be excluded from school on OCT. 15TH if he/she is not in compliance.

Bus Driver Meeting
We had a wonderful meeting on Tuesday, August 28th with our bus drivers. They are very excited to be driving your children to and from school. It was very evident during the meeting that they love getting to know your child and positively impacting their day. One suggestion they had was to please be present at the bus stop when your child gets on and/or off the bus. This way they know the student is safe and with their family member. The bus drivers are also asking that you wait until the bus comes to a complete stop before approaching the bus in order to make sure no one gets hurt. Thank you for your help with this!

Support the Foundation at Septemberfest

The District 54 Education Foundation is raising funds for District 54 students over Labor Day weekend at Schaumburg’s Septemberfest. You can support the Foundation by parking your car for $5 at Collins School, 407 S. Summit Drive, Schaumburg, on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 1 and 2. Summit is located between Roselle and Plum Grove roads. The Foundation is also participating in Not-for-Profit Day on Monday, Sept. 3, at Septemberfest. Purchase food from our partner, Riccardo’s Ristorante, and the profits will support District 54 students.

The Foundation is committed to ensuring that all District 54 students have the same opportunities by funding

  • Breakfast programs for students from financially struggling families to ensure that they begin their day ready to learn, and
  • Grants to students from financially struggling families so that they may participate in extracurricular activities.

Have a wonderful three day weekend. There is no school on Monday in honor of Labor Day.
