Hello Hoover Families,

HIP HAWK HOORAY! We have had a great week being back together will all of our Hawks this week! Next week, 12/8 – 12/12, we will also be celebrating National Inclusive Schools Week! This year’s theme is “Children First: Building a Stronger Tomorrow.” During this week, students at Hoover and all over District 54 will participate in various activities and conversations to celebrate and acknowledge the diverse backgrounds of students, teachers, and families. Join us in our daily theme!

  • Monday: Wear Red for Awareness
  • Tuesday: Wear Blue for Inclusion
  • Wednesday: Wear Pink for Acceptance
  • Thursday: Wear “Mix and Match” for Uniqueness
  • Friday: Wear Green for Growth

Looks like the cold and snow is here to stay! We reviewed our snow expectations with our Hawks this week. As long as the wind chill is above zero we will continue to go outside for recess, so thank you in advance for sending your child with snow gear if they would like to play in the snow or on the playground. Students will need to wear boots and snowpants to play in the snow, students without snow gear will still go outside but remain on the blacktop. Thank you for your support in helping keep our students safe and warm during recess!

Hope that you have a wonderful weekend! All the best,

Alissa Carey, Principal
