Students may enter the national awards program through their school’s PTA.

The arts—and the National PTA Reflections program—support student success and serve as a valuable tool for building strong partnerships in your school community. Celebrate arts learning in your school community with Reflections.

Hour of Code in 3rd Grade

The students in Mrs. Laskowski’s Room 115 participated in the Hour of Code Thursday.  The students discussed what coding meant and how we use coded programs everyday.  The students then had the opportunity to choose their own coding activity online.  The students had a blast coding new games and sharing their ideas with others!

Herbie High Fives – December 8, 2017

The following students names were drawn from the Herbie High Five Eggs today. Each week students earn Herbie High Fives by displaying proper PBIS expected behaviors at school. When they receive a high five card they put them in the blue eggs located in the main office and the Library. Each week Mr. Schmelzer pulls names from these eggs. Students then go down to his office to receive their prize after announcements are over.  Congratulations!

Holiday Gift Wrapping at Hoover

Students in 5th and 6th grade volunteered to help wrap presents with the Schaumburg Fire Department Thursday afternoon.  The Fire Department adopts families each year.  They shop for each family and bring some of the gifts to Hoover.  The students helped wrap presents for four of those families.  It was a great opportunity to help in the community during the holiday season.  Awesome job 5th and 6th graders!
